As summer slowly starts to wind down, the infamous Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival begins. The JAS Festival celebrates its 22nd year with exciting live performances by world class musicians on multiple stages. Eclectic food and beverage vendors will be scattered throughout Snowmass to keep you fueled during the festival. Hailed as the “hottest 72 hours of summer,” this is one festival you do not want to miss!
Don’t forget to support JAS Education Programming.
Give the gift of music and donate! JAS supports public school music funding in the Roaring Fork Valley. Without the support from the programs JAS operates, there would be little to no music funding for the public schools in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Anticipated 2012 JAS Headlines:
- Friday: Steve Miller Band and Sugarland
- Saturday: Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Mumford & Sons
- Sunday: Michael Franti & Spearhead and Kid Rock

Just when we thought the race was over, the winners came by our office. Why? The anti-doping tent was parked right at our front door. Not only did they have to park themselves in front of the facility for taking care of such an important job … namely, proving they were “dope” free … but they relished talking with us. The winner of the Silver Queen stage in Aspen, Thomas Danielson (pictured above), even did a long interview.
What a great deal! Handsome, genuinely fit young men lining up to take care of business.
“Happiness is simple. Not simple to get and not simple to maintain, but found in the simple things. Family, friends, good health, and personal satisfaction in what you do every day.”—Kai Ryssdal
One of my many passions in life is NPR and Aspen Public Radio. This summer I hosted a courtyard party for Aspen Public Radio featuring NPR guest speaker Kai Ryssdal. Ryssdal, Senior Editor of “Marketplace,” a public radio program on business and the economy on NPR, spoke with guests and answered questions on the world economy and politics.
“This is our 2nd annual courtyard party with Kai and Penney. Kai engages in meaningful conversation and Penney’s gathering provides an opportunity for personal dialogue with our donors and supporters. We hope our ‘partnership’ continues to grow.”-Debbie Welden, Aspen Public Radio director of development and corporate support
“Marketplace” airs weekdays on U.S. public radio stations and is scheduled on Aspen Public Radio weekdays from 5-9 a.m.
Did you know our office has moved? The successful party with Kai allowed guests to catch a sneak peek of our newest location for Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty offices. Come stop by, say hi and see our beautiful new office space located at 300 S. Spring St!
